STORE

Storefront and Account Region

Shadowrocket isn't available on the mainland China storefront. The country or region associated with the Apple ID used for App Store purchases determines which apps are available. Changing your device language to English, switching this page's language, or opening a product link with a different storefront path does not change your account region. If the product page says it's unavailable in your current storefront, check your account rather than searching for “Shadowrocket” again.

The button on this page links to the same Shadowrocket App Store listing. On the product page, verify the app name, developer, and app ID. The storefront, currency, and purchase terms shown are determined by the App Store. If the store says the app is unavailable, note the message and check your region settings; don't mistake storefront availability for an issue with the app itself.

How to Check Your Country or Region

Open Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. You may need to verify your identity first. Labels and menu paths can vary slightly by system version; follow what's shown on your device. This shows your store account details, not the display format under “Language & Region.”

If you want to change your region, use the option on that page and review each requirement Apple lists. Your account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing status, and payment details may affect the process. Changing a single setting does not guarantee the change will go through. There's no need to repeatedly submit purchase requests before confirming your region and payment requirements.

If you've already purchased the app, also check which account is signed in under Media & Purchases. The account used for other system services may differ from the one used for App Store purchases. To restore a purchase, use the account that has the original purchase record.

VERIFY

Verify the App: Developer, Icon, and App ID

Check all three. Don't rely on the name, search ranking, or a single screenshot alone.

Shadowrocket

Official Icon and App Store Listing

  1. Developer: Find Shadow Launch Technology Limited in the store listing and verify the full name exactly. Don't rely on a similar-looking name.
  2. Official icon: Look for the rocket design with a blue-and-purple outline on a white background. The icon shown here can help you compare it with the store listing, but visual similarity alone does not verify the developer or app ID.
  3. App ID: The product page URL should contain id932747118. The storefront path may vary, but this number identifies the same product and should not be a different app ID.

Search results may include apps with the same or similar names. Don't rely on a translated nickname or search ranking as proof that an app is genuine. Open the product page, verify the developer, compare the official icon, and then check the app ID in the product link. If any detail doesn't match, stop before purchasing and recheck the link on this page.

The screenshot on the right is an official App Store screenshot uploaded by the developer. It shows the layout of the app after installation. Home shows Not Connected, Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and the SERVER group. Add Server is where you enter server settings. These interface labels are more useful for finding your way around than icon colors, but the screenshot alone does not verify the app's identity.

The fields and layout shown in the screenshots explain what each screen is for; they are not usable connection details. The app may look different depending on your device and settings, so follow the interface on your screen. Once you've confirmed the app is installed correctly, go to the relevant guide to import your own details. You don't need to change settings just to make your screen match the screenshot.

iPhone

Install and Open Shadowrocket on iPhone

Purchase and install the app through the App Store before setting up connections. Before buying, check the compatibility section on the product page to make sure your device is supported. System requirements are listed on the App Store page. If the store says your device isn't compatible, check the device and system details it specifies; changing Shadowrocket settings won't resolve compatibility issues.

After verifying the product, complete the purchase using the App Store's payment and identity verification process. The store and system display download progress, payment results, and installation status. If payment is complete but installation is still pending, check the store message, available storage, and your current network. Don't buy again just because the app icon hasn't appeared immediately.

Authorize the VPN Configuration on First Connection

After opening Shadowrocket, check Home, then import your existing subscription or enter your server details using Add Server. The first time you connect, the system may ask permission to add a VPN configuration and require your device passcode or system authentication. This allows the app to create a system network configuration. It does not ask you to buy the app again or confirm that your server settings are valid.

Continue only if you're sure the request comes from Shadowrocket and understand what it does. If you cancel for now, you can return to the app and start the connection again when needed. Authorization and a successful connection are separate steps: the address, port, protocol, and credentials must still match your own details. Allowing the system configuration won't correct incorrect settings.

Before connecting, check Global Routing: Config is configuration mode, Proxy is proxy mode, and Direct is direct mode. If you're new to the app, understand the current mode and active configuration before changing anything. Connectivity Test can help check connectivity, but a single test does not guarantee access will work for every app or destination.

iPad

iPad and Other Apple Devices

Buy once with the same Apple ID to install on compatible iPhone and iPad devices. Sign in to the original purchase account in the iPad App Store, find Shadowrocket under purchased items, and download it again. Purchase eligibility and system requirements are listed on the App Store page. If a price still appears, check the account and purchase history before paying again.

The iPad's larger screen may change the available space, list width, and some navigation elements compared with iPhone. Use labels such as Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings to find your way through the guide; buttons don't need to be in the same position. When adding details, verify the protocol and its corresponding fields. Don't change settings just because the layout is different.

Purchase History and Configuration Are Separate

Having purchased the app doesn't mean a new device already has the same connection details. After installing on iPad, import your existing subscription or server details and check Config and Global Routing. If you used iCloud sync, check its status and content on the current device. Seeing the app icon does not mean your configuration has been fully restored.

Each device may require separate authorization for its system VPN configuration the first time you connect. Authorizing it on iPhone does not authorize it on iPad. If something goes wrong, first identify whether the issue is with App Store access, system authorization, or in-app settings, then troubleshoot that step.

Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision

The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Shadowrocket is available on these devices through the App Store only. Check the listing to see whether your device is supported, whether the purchase is universal, and which system versions are required. Use the App Store page as the source of truth. This guide focuses on iPhone and iPad and does not assume that touch-based steps apply to other devices.

RESTORE

New Device, Reinstallation, and Restoring Purchases

Your original purchase record is the starting point for getting the app again on a new device. If the app is still available and your device meets its requirements, you can usually download it again from purchased items with the same Apple ID without paying the app fee again. Keep your purchase history and a backup of your own configuration; don't wait until your old device is unavailable to try to remember which account you used.

Redownload from Purchased Items

  1. Open the App Store on your new device, go to the account page in the upper-right corner, and confirm that you're signed in with the original purchase account.
  2. Find Shadowrocket under “Purchased.” Depending on your system version, the entry may appear under “Apps” or a similar name. Follow the labels shown on your device.
  3. When you find the correct product, tap the redownload button and complete any identity verification requested by the system.
  4. After installation, import your own subscription, server details, or existing configuration, then check Config, Global Routing, and system authorization.

If you can't find the purchase record, first check whether you bought the app with another account and which account is signed in under Media & Purchases. Also check whether the app is hidden, the storefront region has changed, or the product is still available in your current storefront. Seeing a price on the product page alone doesn't mean your original purchase is invalid; check your purchase history and the store's message.

Restoring the App Does Not Restore Connection Details

The App Store handles app purchases and redownloads. Subscription links, manually added servers, Config files, and related settings are separate data. Before reinstalling, make sure you can retrieve these details. After moving to a new device, check each item rather than assuming everything comes back with your purchase history.

If you still have your old device, note the active configuration and any essential settings first, then use an in-app migration or sync feature that suits your needs. Keep subscription links and server credentials private; don't post the full details publicly. This guide explains how to use the app but does not collect or store connection credentials.

To check whether Family Sharing applies, review the current App Store listing and your Family Sharing setup. Don't assume that the redownload rules for one account mean every family member has purchased the app. For payment or purchase history issues, use the options in your App Store account to check the details instead of paying repeatedly.

PRICE

Pricing and One-Time Purchase

The US storefront reference price is $2.99 as a one-time purchase. Other storefronts show local currency; the final amount is the one displayed on the App Store payment confirmation screen. This reference price is not a fixed price in every region, and the currency symbol alone does not confirm that your account region has changed.

A one-time purchase means paying once for the app itself, not a monthly fee paid to Shadowrocket. Redownloading a purchased app on another device still depends on your account, device compatibility, and App Store purchase eligibility. “One-time” does not mean the purchase applies to every device.

A successful installation means the app is ready to run. Server addresses, ports, protocols, authentication details, and subscription status depend on your own connection information; buying the app does not supply them. If Home opens but you haven't added a server, get your own details ready and follow the setup guide. You don't need to pay another fee to complete the purchase process.

Future app updates are delivered through the App Store. Check the store for the current release notes and compatibility information. Updating the app, restoring a purchase, updating a subscription, and switching Config are different actions: the first two concern getting the app, while the latter two involve connection details and rules. Identifying the relevant step can help avoid unnecessary reinstalls and repeated setup.

Shadowrocket Download and Purchase FAQs

Use the exact App Store message to determine whether the issue is with the store, your account, or in-app settings.

Why can't I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?

Shadowrocket isn't available on the mainland China storefront. The country or region associated with your Apple ID determines which storefront you see, not your device's interface language. Check your account region under Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region, then open the product link on this page. Whether you can change regions depends on Apple's current requirements.

The product page opens, but the download won't complete. What should I check first?

Note the exact App Store message, then check the signed-in store account, payment status, available device storage, and compatibility requirements. If you've purchased the app before, look for it under purchased items first. App Store downloads and connection settings in Shadowrocket are separate steps; repeatedly changing server settings won't fix a store download issue.

Do I have to pay again after getting a new device or reinstalling?

If you purchased the app with the same Apple ID and it remains available, you can usually download it again from your App Store account or purchased items without paying again. If a price still appears, check the account used for Media & Purchases and your purchase history before paying again. Reinstalling the app does not restore your subscriptions, server details, or configuration.

Can I install it on my iPad if I bought it on my iPhone?

After purchasing on your iPhone with the same Apple ID, you can redownload Shadowrocket from the App Store on a compatible iPad. Purchase eligibility and system requirements for both devices are listed on the App Store page. App purchase history and connection settings are managed separately, so you'll still need to import your own subscription or server details after installing on iPad.

Can I install it on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the listing for compatibility with your device, system requirements, and whether the purchase is universal. Shadowrocket is available on these devices through the App Store only.

The app interface is in English. How do I follow the instructions?

This official manual keeps interface labels in English. Use Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings to find the relevant sections. Under Global Routing, Config means configuration mode, Proxy means proxy mode, and Direct means direct mode. Check which screen you're on before following the steps; don't rely on button colors alone to identify a function.

Installation complete: Read the first-time setup guide, or compare interface labels in the glossary.
